What are placement assessments?

Running a successful placement process starts with accurately diagnosing the knowledge gaps in students preexisting foundational mathematics concepts. At STEMIFY, we believe that identification of gaps at the concept level augmented by strong policies at the institutional level, allows students to have a strong starting point in their STEM careers. To this effect, STEMIFY offers a broad range of placement assessments that clearly identifies the students who can be placed into a variety of courses that are offered in community colleges and universities across the US.

Stemify Placement Assessments are used to:

• Place students into a course, course level, or academic program
• Provide important insights into students' skill levels in specific subject areas
• Identify gaps in students' knowledge
• Generate personalized study plans for individual students based on his or her assessment results to quickly address gaps in knowledge

Students are assigned Placement Assessments by being placed in a cohort.  The cohort is then assigned to a Deployment which sets the criteria for the Placement Assessment.
