What is a cohort?

A cohort is a vehicle for grouping students together for the purposes of:

• Enrollment in Placement Exams for course placement in upcoming semesters
• Diagnosing learning gaps in specific groups of students
• Tracking progress through learning pathways for specific groups of students
• Viewing analytics of student engagement and performance for a specific group of students
• Grouping of students who will are educated at the same period of time i.e., a grade level or class of students
• Grouping of students who will will work through a curriculum together to achieve the same academic degree

Cohorts can be created in anyway that is meaningful for faculty and administration.
